According to the 2008 Working Meeting of China Mobile Corporation, as the sharp development of telecommunication industry in China, at present there are 122 million broadband users in China. About 60% of them use broadband to enjoy internet.

On basis of China Mobile''s economic operating index statistics, the sharp growth of broadband users, has significantly sitimulated the growth of  the non-voice evenue from fixed telephones. Compared with 5.5% in 2005, the proportion of the non-voice evenue in the total evenue has increased to above 30% in 2007. Among the new users, one third are coming from rural areas.

Besides, according to the statistics of ITU, at the end of 2005, 74% of the broadband users are coming from developed countries, and 17.5% are from China. Compared with other undeveloped countries, China shows a dramatic development in this area.
