The9, Chinese third biggest online game operator, published an announcement saying that the players or guilds who break the regulations will be given the most severe penalty: close account forever.
This announcement causued strong response from players. A player who didn't reveal his name, said that crack-down on account stealing is reasonable, but in the announcement, accounts of players who were connected with stolen golds will be shut down permanently. This is unfair for players who don't have the ability to identify the source of game gold. Zhao Yurun, spokensman of the9 said this crack-down was against the gold trades caused by illegal account stealing, not against the non-forfitable virtual item sales. But the player rebutted the saying about 'Non-forfitable Gold Trade' was vague, that trade was for profit in nature.
Zhao said the9 had developed a new technology to track down the source of stolen gold, until the final buyers. But the players who held the opposite opinion saying that the9 was trying to stop the account stealing by threating virtual item trade, which was very rough.
this was the only time, the9 took the hard way about disobey of game rugulation. Some times ago, the9 stiked hard on the usage of third party programme, which also caused the dissatisfaction in players. This time, players also showed great discontentment about the company's policy. There are some players who called for rejection of this policy by less game time.
