Analysy: Chinese Online Game Market Reached RMB 3.98 Million
Shanda, NetEase, The9 and Giant Interactive took the lead.

According to Chinese Online Game Market Survey Q1 2008, the report recently published by Analysys International, the total revenue of Chinese online game industry reached RMB 3.985 billion, a QoQ increase of 14%. As the following graph shown, Shanda, NetEase, The9 and Giant Interactive took the lead.

According to Analysys, the main performance of Chinese leading online game enterprises in the first quarter as follows:

1. Shanda: In the first quarter, Shanda published multiple games. With the steady growth of old MMORPGs and the seasonal influenced online casual games, this quarter Shanda made fast growth. The operation revenue of Shanda in the first quarter reached RMB 745 million, leading the whole industry.

2. NetEase: Its main game Fantasy Westward Journey performed well during the traditional Chinese New Year, and kept growing in the fistr quarter. In the first quarter, its online game business reached 532 million RMB, second in the market.

3. The9: Its main game World of Warcraft had an average performance as the last quarter. In addition, Granado Espada contributed most to the revenue of the whole quarter; MU outperformed last quater. Th9 has a market share of 11.5%, ranking third in the industry.

4. Giant Interactive Group: Giant Interactive launched of Dating of the Same City, expansion of Zhengtu Online, in the same and the open beta of Giant Online in March. In the first quarter, the operation revenue of Giant Interactive increased 4%, forth in the market share.

5. Sohu Inc.: Due to the outstanding performance of Tian Long Ba Bu, the operation revenue of online games reached RMB 288 million, a QoQ increase of 65%. Its market share reached 7.2%, ranking 6th in the market.
